Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026. This policy is published by the Finthriva team and applies to the Finthriva app and website.

1. Who we are

Finthriva is an AI-powered personal finance application built for Nigerians. This privacy policy is written and maintained by the Finthriva team and explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us on WhatsApp at 08025389814 or by email at jimtechglobal@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Account details: your email address and password when you sign up, and your name or profile details if you add them.

Financial data you enter: transactions, budgets, savings goals, debts, bills and salary plans you log in the app.

Content you submit to AI tools: bank statements you upload for analysis, text you paste into the Scam & Offer Checker, and messages you send to the AI finance coach.

Payment records: when you pay for a plan, we store the payment reference, plan and status. Card details are processed by our payment provider (Paystack) and are never seen or stored by Finthriva.

Usage data: anonymised link-click and feature-usage events that help us understand which tools are useful.

3. How we use your information

To provide the core service: budgeting, savings tracking, debt and bill management, and reports.

To power AI features you explicitly open — for example analysing a statement you uploaded or answering a coaching question. Only the figures relevant to that tool are sent to the AI model; your name, email and phone number are not included in AI prompts.

To process and confirm subscription payments, including manual bank-transfer approval by our admin team.

To send essential service messages such as payment confirmations and security notices.

4. What we never do

We never ask for your bank login credentials, card PIN or wallet PIN.

We never sell, rent or share your financial records with advertisers or data brokers.

We never let other members see your data — every database table enforces row-level isolation keyed to your account.

5. Third-party processors

Finthriva relies on a small set of service providers to operate: managed database hosting, Paystack for payment processing, and an AI model provider (Google Gemini, accessed through a server-side gateway) for AI features. Each receives only the minimum data required for its function.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual transactions, goals, analyses and scam-check reports from within the app at any time, and you can request full account deletion from Settings.

When you delete content, it is removed from active storage. Residual copies in encrypted backups expire on the provider's backup rotation schedule.

7. Security

All traffic runs over TLS, records are stored on encrypted managed Postgres, and database policies scope every row to your account. Payment and banking webhooks are accepted only when their cryptographic signature verifies.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent for optional features (such as AI analysis) at any time by not using those features or by deleting the related records.

Nigerian users may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

9. Children

Finthriva is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app, and the "last updated" date below will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
